GROW YOUR OWN SUPERFRUIT

Propagating elderberry plants in my nursery

Last year’s elderberry abundance has spilled over into this year beautifully! I’ve used last year’s prunings to naturally (without the use of chemicals) clone many new elderberry plants that I’m excited to share🤗

Freshly harvested elderberries

Native elderberry (Sambucus Canadensis) is a must-have for home gardeners, herbal enthusiasts, and wildlife lovers alike! The bushes are commonly known for their clusters of fragrant white flowers, rich purple berries, and their adaptability in the home garden. This low-maintenance shrub is also an ecological powerhouse! The flowers support pollinators, the berries feed birds and wildlife, and the roots hold sloped or erosion-prone soils in place. The plant has been highly regarded for hundreds of years as a super plant – providing not only ornamental value but also highly nutritious berries used in syrups, teas, jams, and health tonics.
