I GOT A GRANT!

As a fifth generation farmer and first generation beekeeper, I’m passionate about strengthening diversity in agriculture. I’ve got so many ideas for how I want to do this and no shortage of enthusiasm. Unfortunately, I often find myself challenged by lack of resources – namely time and money.

When I expressed my desire to expose under-represented groups to the world of honey bees, my people at the Georgia Beekeepers Association quickly committed to making sure I had the tools I needed to do just that. They granted me $500 to purchase the observation hive of my dreams, jumbo educational honey bee posters, and supplies to fill a “teaching bees” bag.

My new observation hive allows me to safely bring some of my bees to talks🤩
My new 15-piece poster set is full of info and stunning imagery🤩

I’m beyond grateful to be a recipient of this grant and can’t wait to use my new tools to cultivate future honey bee lovers and beekeepers! As a matter of fact, I’ve already received an invitation and am developing my first sessions.
