I’M A PUMPKIN FAN NOW

If you would have told me three years ago that one of my favorite things to grow and eat would be a variety of pumpkin, I’d never believe it. First and foremost, I didn’t eat pumpkin. Period. No, thank you. I had no idea that a variety of pumpkins existed in this world and I’d certainly never even heard of Seminole pumpkin. Boy, was I missing out!

Seminole pumpkin are SUPER low-maintenance and abundant producing plants. (Those are my favorite kinds of plants!) The pumpkins that they produce are LARGE, can be stored for at least a year with no special storage or processing required, and taste more like a sweet butternut squash than the pumpkin I’ve known. Had I discovered Seminole pumpkin earlier in life, I would’ve been a fan of pumpkin sooner. Make no mistake about it now though – I EAT PUMPKIN😋.

  1. Giving thanks to the Indigenous peoples who cherished this seed so that I might one day buy a massive Seminole pumpkin at a tiny pop up market in South FL & myself save & share the seed🤲🏾

    Seed saving is blessed work😇
