I called my auntie for our weekly check-in and she sounded bad😬. She recently had dental work done that didn’t heal as expected and was causing her oral pain. I knew immediately what she needed – toothache plant (Acmella oleracea).

Toothache plant is a flowering herb known for its active compound – Spilanthol – which has natural anesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties. Traditionally, its leaves and flowers are used for numbing toothaches, soothing skin lesions, and treating mouth pain. Today, it is recognized for its potent cosmetic benefits of anti-aging, collagen support, moisturizing, calming irritated skin, and facial muscle relaxation.

I’m honored to be contributing to the continued legacy of the toothache plant. These pretty little perennial plants are powerful and tough. My auntie is excited to experience the plant and I’m excited to gift her a plant start in the Spring to add to her home garden🤗.
