Trialing “full sun” plant varieties will be a continual exercise for me. Simultaneously, I’m experimenting with optimizing production in the farm’s sparse shady areas. In addition to our mushroom farm and nature trails, I plan to use the dappled sunlight offered by the old-growth forest surrounding the farm to grow and propagate Plectranthus barbatus – aka “Toilet Paper Plant”. This plant has been on my wishlist for years, so I’m ecstatic to introduce it to the farm this Summer.
Get to know the Toilet Paper Plant video🤩

I’ve been nursing my cuttings indoors all Winter to real life my dream of replacing manufactured toilet paper. Nature provides🤲🏾. Most of my cuttings have rooted and are looking healthy.

I look forward to watching my new plants fill-in the understory of our forest edge. And, the smell – DIVINE😌! This trial’s success will be a bold step in elevating our waste cycle for Mama Earth and further reducing our reliance on the problematic retail system. May we create the conditions for the plants to thrive on our farm. Ashe🤲🏾

This is such a valuable addition🙏🏾
Your starts look better than mine, but hopefully they’ll bounce back with consistent warmth & we’ll have an endless supply of toilet paper🤲🏾
