Last year, we decided to use the shady ecosystem of the old growth forest bordering our farm to experiment with cultivating mushrooms. We started with three inoculated mushroom logs that just looked like – well, logs🫤 for MONTHS. That was until I recently ventured into our forest edge to discover fleshy spores forming on the surface of one of the logs. I’ve never been so excited to see fungus in my life!

Are we actually about to grow and harvest our own edible mushrooms in the “wild parts” of our farm🤯⁉️ Trust and believe we’ll be doing A LOT more logs this year.
