I’ve been periodically visiting our newest abandoned lot – turned community food forest – to check for signs of graft acceptance. I’m excited to share that, so far, it looks like we have SEVEN successful pear tree grafts!

It’ll be a couple of years before our new pear trees produce fruit, but how cool that we were able to turn “trash” Bradford pear trees on forgotten land into something to nourish our community for 75+ years. Now, THAT is a legacy!
