A major goal this year is to expand our fruit production. With all the strawberry plant propagating I did (and will continue to do), I expect to more than double our strawberry production compared to last year. We gave our inherited pomegranate tree a good pruning last Fall, so we’re anticipating healthier growth and increased production this year. It’s already showing signs of re-growth! I transplanted the blueberry bushes we bought last year into bigger containers and they’ve begun blooming. While it’ll be years before we expect a harvest, we’re excited to have started goji berry from seed. We also purchased six bare root fruit trees to introduce figs and raspberries to our farm. I’m planning to grow cantaloupe and watermelon again this Summer. And, last, but not least, my sister gifted me a Meyer lemon tree and roselle seeds to add to our production.

The year is still young! Who knows what other fruits we’ll add to the farm, but if I don’t get any more I’ll still be grateful for our 2024 fruit expansion.
