SEMINOLE PUMPKIN HARVEST

Last time I shared about our struggling Seminole pumpkin patch, it was finally starting to show signs of fruiting after many super hot summer days of torture. Well, the two surviving plants exceeded my expectations. I’d hoped to get one pumpkin to be able to taste Seminole pumpkin for the first time and save seed to try growing again.

Well, we got FIVE gorgeous pumpkins!! That’s a lot of seeds and a lot of pumpkin recipes research to come (LOL!).

We’ll leave the pumpkins to cure for a few weeks. This should help them ripen up a bit (they’re supposed to be more light-orange than green) to taste better and harden the skin to prolong their storage life. I can’t wait to try them and am very excited to have been given more seed to grow again next year!
