PLANT SALE: SILVER CARPET LAMB’S EAR

I grew this beloved perennial ground cover, ‘Silver Carpet’ Lamb’s Ear (Stachys byzantine), renowned for its incredibly soft, silvery-white foliage that feels exactly like a lamb’s ear from seed in USDA hardiness zone 8B. This low-growing plant creates stunning textural contrast in gardens while serving as an excellent drought-tolerant ground cover or border edging. The woolly foliage provides excellent contrast to green-leafed plants and remains attractive through most of the growing season. It looks especially beautiful planted around a birdbath or other ornament, in a crevice or rock garden slope, or planted as an edging along a path. This herbaceous, hardy perennial will thrive in poor soils and dry shade. Deer and rabbits avoid Lamb’s Ear thanks to its wooly texture. Bonus – this plant can tolerate planting beneath black walnut trees. Lamb’s Ear is also prized for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
