Deepening community connections is something I’m digging into this year. My fellow members of the Georgia Beekeepers’ Association (GBA) are MY PEOPLE. I really enjoy them, but I rarely engaged with them last year and I missed our interactions. I’m going to do better this year. I think I will. Actually, I know I will because I’ve committed to a 1-year assignment on a GBA Board committee. Yep, that’ll do it😅. I’m now a member of the grant committee responsible for distributing funds to support beekeeper-led initiatives throughout Georgia.

I’m already learning so much in my new role and making new bee community connections. This first month leaves me confident that if I do nothing except show up to our monthly committee meetings, I will have far outdone myself (in terms of engagement) compared to last year and honored my desire to be more connected to my people🐝. It’s a start.
